Why Ubuntu Rocks
The short answer: The community. Ubuntu is a great Linux distribution, and this is an important part of being successful, but merit alone isn’t enough. Somehow Ubuntu has fostered an awesome and thriving community.
I’ve known this for a while, but what has reminded me is that we recently created a new Ubuntu team, the “Web Presence Team,” responsible for creating and maintaining an attractive website presence. We started less than a week ago and we’re up to over 80 members, half of them having participated in the group by at least introducing themselves and their skills set. We’ve already started closing bugs, created some artwork, updated the Ubuntu start page and begun planning new features. Wow!
If you’re into this type of thing, consider yourself invited. We’re starting out with some small but fun projects (see the wiki link above) and once we get our feet under us we’ll be taking on more projects.

I totally agree with you
Hi Matt! I totally agree with you. Ubuntu-Linux really is better, not only because of the great community, also because Ubuntu is far better than Windows Vista and you have access to over 20,000 free softwares with Ubuntu. And it’s also a very stable and VERY VERY safe operating system as well. I no longer need to worry about worms, trojans nor viruses anymore. I’ve switched to Ubuntu in January and I have never regret it. And, I even don’t miss Windows XP/Vista at all. Why paying so much money for a crappy OS when you can get Ubuntu-Linux for FREE? That’s another reason why I switched to Ubuntu. I am not a millionaire and I cannot afford buying a new OS every 2-3 years.
