Finals are done! Music: Aced it. Computers: Aced it. The only thing I can say is: Piece Of Cake. I really feel like the CGS 1000 final was good. Throught the class, I felt like the book and the instructor focused on all kinds of non-essential material. This is an introduction to computers class, how many people need to know about MHz, and RAM and ROM and etc? We skimmed over Viruses, Online Privacy and E-Commerce. I wonder how many people finish this class not knowing how to tell if their using a secure session in their e-commerce transaction? How many people understand web-bugs and other privacy intrusive activities on the web? We didn’t once talk about how to avoid opening a virus sent to you from e-mail or how to distinguish an e-mail with an attachment from once with-out.

Dr. Dollarhide threw us a fast one on the Music Final. He told us the bonus on the final would be over Stravinsky’s arrangements of Birthday Greetings and the National Anthem, Crumb’s Black Angel, Cage’s Sontas and Interludes for Prepared Piano and DeBussy’s Claire DeLune… I was almost caught off guard when he substituted Orf’s Carmina Burana and Adam’s Short ride in A Fast Machine for the Crumb and DeBussy pieces. Actually, I only got half credit on Carmina Burana, I couldn’t remember the name of the piece until after I turned in the test. Oh well.

Either way, I got an A in both classes. Next semester, I guess I’ll actually take some classes that are hard.
