Francis Schaeffer – Portraits of Great Christians: I’ve just completed reading the book, How should we then live and am stunned. This has certainly struck a chord with me. For years I have had a great desire to reach people here in the USA. I have so strongly been amazed that such a country can have so many people absolutely clueless to the Gospel. Reading this book, subtitled the rise and decline of Western thought and culture, I see now how we’ve arrived at such a sorry place.

How should we then live has many great quotes and statements, but one of the most powerful that has certainly stuck with me appears very near the end of the book. “…As Christians, we are not only to know the right world view, the world view that tells us the truth of what is, but consciously to act upon that world view so as to influence society in all it’s parts and facets across the whole spectrum of life, as much as we can to the extent of our individual and collective ability.”
