Rousseau, Jean-Jacques,: “Man was born free, and he is everywhere in chains.” Holy Bible, John 8:32 NIV, “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

For centuries, man has been searching for ultimate truth and the meaning to his existence. Our current humanistic world view believes that given just a little more time we will have it all figured out. Do you believe this? Let me ask you a question, then. In the last decade have you learned anything new? I hope you have. Now, having learned something new, have you found that you are just a little bit closer to understanding it all, or do you find that the more you know the more you find you don’t know?

I believe that the universe is not only infinitely large, but it’s also infinitely small and infinitely complex. For example, the molecule was discovered only to find that there was something smaller. The atom was discovered only to find that there is something smaller. The proton, neutron and electron were all discovered only to find there is something smaller, the quark. Are we at the end? I doubt it.

If you are trusting in human understanding to conquer all, don’t hold your breath. The early scientists such as Bacon, Galileo and Newton were only able to make their ground breaking discoveries because they knew that God created the universe in an orderly manner.
